Linum Consult’s client is a market leader in the distribution of machine parts across the Mining, Civil Engineering and Heavy Industry sectors in Africa. Due to extended growth, they are looking to hire a bilingual French & English Logistics Director for their office in Burkina Faso.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing the parts and logistics teams (import & export, warehouse, sales administration)
- Setting up an efficient organisation to guarantee a high level of service throughout the logistics chain
- Promoting the company’s added “logistics” value to their customers
- Establishing stock budgets and monitoring their execution
- Ensuring control of the obsolescence of stock (parts and equipment)
- Organising, managing, and ensuring the proper maintenance of inventory
- Ensuring a maximum part availability rate whilst optimising the turnover rate
- Following up on supply deadlines (suppliers, transport, customs clearance)
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety standards
- Managing and analysing the Parts & Logistics KPIs, and taking corrective measure where there are deviations
- Determining the training plans necessary for junior staff
PROFILE
- At least 15 years’ experience in logistics, ideally within the mining sector, energy & transport, construction & forestry, or in industrial equipment
- BAC+5 qualified from a business school or logistician training, with strongly developed skills in supply chain
- Knowledge of Lean Management would be highly advantageous
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in French & English
