Management of the operations and maintenance of fleets to support 5 MMTPA.
Working with the Head of Strategic Business Development to support business growth.
Directing and helping O&M Managers to assist when prospecting, tendering and procurement.
Preparation of Rail O&M budgets
Developing Rail O&M to be capable for achievement the company’s stated growth strategy.
Key purpose to lead entire O&M team (at different locations) and to empower team – Manage Resources, regular budgeting exercises and assure on time dispatches, Installation & Troubleshooting
Responsible for entire operation and maintenance of Locos, Wagons, passenger coaches, IMWB, rail civil infrastructure (track/bridges/culverts/station buildings/etc) and Loco Workshops and associated equipments.
Managing maintenance schedules, Spares Planning and budgets for OPEX.
Delivering Preventive, Predictive maintenance as well as Breakdown maintenance.
Building, Planning, directing and controlling the efforts of the Operation and Maintenance Team.
Ensuring that all certificates of compliance are maintained and up to date in accordance with relevant legislation.
Preparation of shift schedule to ensure smooth railway operation and maintenance.
Designing maintenance programs and Delegating work responsibilities.
Recording daily maintenance activity and preparation of MIS.
Involved in the hiring on maintenance personnel.
Using specialist maintenance management software to track work.
Running a preventive maintenance program that will minimize service repairs in the long run.
Awareness of modern maintenance techniques.
Knowledge of codes, laws and regulations.
Liasioning with authorities/stakeholders for rake position, load position indenting and allotments
Monitoring of Rake Movement, Loading of Rakes, Minimizing rake turnaround timings
Timely loading and departure of trains so that the demurrage can be minimized.
To coordinate with Port Operation by giving advance information of the forecasted empty and loaded rakes.
Ensure timely completion of the rake placement loading and drawn out of empty to loaded rakes
Get the optimum utilization of the locos and by scrutinizing the movements consumption of fuel is minimized
Ensuring compliance as per timelines prescribed under respective laws
Ensure training safety adherence and proper discharge of the duties.
